One of the reasons the Obama administration keeps giving us for not enforcing our country’s immigration laws is that we shouldn’t punish people whose only illegal act was entering our country looking for a better life. Of course that’s crap, because living here as an illegal alien virtually requires the commission of multiple crimes, including identity theft, fraud and tax evasion. But of course these otherwise angelic illegals are forced to commit those crimes, don’t you see, because of our country’s evil, outdated immigration laws. Hashtag-Comprehensive-Immigration-Reform! ¡Si, se puede!
Still crap, but let’s look past it for now. Over the past several years we’ve seen story after story about the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) releasing—not the completely harmless and entirely sympathetic “regular” illegal aliens—but criminal aliens who have been tried and convicted of non-immigration crimes here in the U.S. You know, crimes like murder and rape and child molesting.
According to reports, this has been quietly going on for years:
- October 2008 – July 2011: 159,000+ illegal aliens with criminal records released into the U.S.
- 2013: 36,007 illegal aliens with criminal records released into the U.S. (Some reports put the figure as high as 67,879)
- 2014: 30,558 illegal aliens with criminal records released into the U.S.
In a statement earlier this year, Senator Chuck Grassley of the Senate Judiciary Committee pointed out that 1,000 of the aliens released in 2013 have been convicted of further crimes, including “assault with a deadly weapon, terrorist threats, failure to register as a sex offender, lewd acts with a child under 14 and spousal rape by force.” According to a report by the Congressional Research Service, criminal aliens released into various states between 2008 and 2011 were later charged with 16,000 additional crimes. According to data released by ICE, 121 illegal aliens who were released between 2010 and 2014 have gone on to commit homicide.
That’s 121 American citizens that Immigration and Customs Enforcement has killed with its policies. Anybody see anything wrong with this picture?
Sanctuary and San Francisco
This has all has recently come back into the spotlight after Francisco Sanchez, a 45-year-old criminal alien from Mexico who had been deported five times, shot and killed 32-year-old Kathryn Steinle as she walked along Pier 14, a popular spot for pedestrians.
Sanchez indicated in interviews that he chose San Francisco because of its status as a “sanctuary city” that refuses to comply with requests of cooperation from ICE. In other words, instead of turning over criminal aliens to ICE when the city can no longer maintain custody of them, they simply let them go. Sounds a lot like what ICE has been doing, doesn’t it?
Stupid SCOTUS, Stupid Regulations
A lot of the blame rests on the Supreme Court. In the 2001 case Zadvydas v. Davis, SCOTUS decided that ICE can’t hold criminal aliens in custody for longer than 180 days. If the criminal alien’s home country refuses to accept the alien back, ICE must simply turn them loose—leaving them entirely to their own devices—as they wait formal deportation proceedings.
And apparently, this is how it goes, more often than not:
We have a whole lot of rapists, murderers, child molesters and assorted scumbags in our prisons. We’ve been giving them free room and board for six months now, but we can’t hold onto them any more because of our stupid courts. Would you pretty please accept these scumbags back into Mexico, where they were all born and raised, so we don’t have to sic them on innocent American citizens. Pretty please?
And the inevitable response:
No way, Jose. Your country, your problem.
An Easy Solution
I’m a big fan of responsibility. If a massively screwed-up country like Mexico is spawning all these murderers, rapists, child molesters and assorted scumbags, I suggest that Mexico should be responsible for incarcerating them. We all hear about how bad Mexican jails are. Can you think of a better place for these criminal aliens to spend the next 10-20 years?
Since the Supreme Court says we have to play “catch and release” with these assholes, who’s to say we can’t release them back into Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and other third world shitholes? Also, who’s to say we need these countries’ permission to do so?
According to Google, a Sabre2 parachute can be purchased online for $2,195.00. But that’s a high-end fancy-schmancy model. I was able to find a surplus French parachute rig—including harness, lines and two parachute canopies—for $199 from an online military surplus store. According to the Federal Register, it costs $14,142 to house a federal prisoner for six months. Isn’t an investment of $200 per scumbag (plus the cost of airplanes) worth it to ensure that we don’t have to release these idiots to wreak havoc on American citizens?
By now you’ve probably figured out my plan. Buy a bunch of surplus parachutes. Pack as many of the criminals into the back of a C-5 Galaxy. Fly down to Mexico with a fighter escort. When the plane is more or less above a major population center (like Mexico City or Puebla), open the back door and push them out. Sure, a few may not make it, but that’s a small price to pay to prevent these criminal scumbags from victimizing more Americans.
Obviously, we’d have to send additional planes to fly over Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador. Other planes will need to make trips to Africa, Asia and other corners of the globe. The cost of the fuel and wear and tear on the planes would be totally worth it if we can rid America of these criminal aliens once and for all.
